The Express Entry CRS Calculator is a free online tool that estimates your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score — the points system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to rank candidates in the Express Entry pool for Canada permanent residence.

Your CRS score determines your rank in the pool. IRCC holds regular Express Entry draws and issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to the highest-ranked candidates. In 2026, all-program draw cutoffs have ranged between 470 and 525 points.

This free Canada CRS calculator covers all four Express Entry programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

IELTS Score to CRS Points — Quick Reference

Language is one of the highest-weighted CRS factors. IELTS scores are converted to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels before CRS points are applied. Higher IELTS band scores = higher CLB = more CRS points.

Frequently Asked Questions — Canada CRS Calculator

A score of 470 or above is generally competitive for all-program Express Entry draws in 2026. Recent cutoffs have ranged 470–525. French-language and category-based draws often have lower cutoffs — sometimes below 400. Check our CRS cutoff scores history for the latest trends.
The CRS score uses four sections: Section A (core human capital — age, education, language, Canadian work experience), Section B (spouse/partner factors), Section C (skill transferability — combining your education, language, and foreign work experience), and Section D (additional points for PNP, job offer, French bonus, Canadian education, sibling). Maximum possible score is 1,200.
Yes. This free CRS calculator requires no IRCC login, no account, and no personal information. Enter your profile details and get an instant score estimate. Your data is never stored — everything runs in your browser.
A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination adds 600 CRS points instantly, making an ITA in the next draw virtually certain. This is the fastest way to get an ITA if your base score is below 470. See our PNP CRS Calculator to estimate your PNP-boosted score.
Yes. Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants use the same CRS scoring system. CEC candidates typically score higher due to Canadian work experience bonuses. CEC-specific draws have had cutoffs of 430–500 in recent rounds. Enter your Canadian work experience years in Section A for an accurate estimate.
FSW candidates use the same CRS system. However, they must separately qualify under the FSW 67-point eligibility criteria. FSW-specific draw cutoffs in recent rounds have ranged from 490 to 535. A high IELTS score (CLB 9+) and a bachelor's degree or higher are the biggest CRS boosters for FSW applicants.
IELTS bands are converted to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels. CLB 9 (≈ IELTS 7.0) earns about 29–31 CRS points per skill. CLB 10 (≈ IELTS 8.0) earns up to 34 points per skill. With 4 skills, the difference between CLB 7 and CLB 10 can be 60+ additional CRS points. Use our IELTS to CLB converter for exact values.
The top strategies to boost your CRS score: (1) Improve IELTS/CELPIP to CLB 9–10; (2) Get a provincial nomination (PNP) for +600 pts; (3) Gain Canadian work experience; (4) Add a French language test (NCLC 7+ = +25–50 pts); (5) Secure a valid LMIA job offer (+50 to +200); (6) Complete a Canadian education credential.
